In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work Street Musician by John George Brown. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,534.14), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John George Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Thrilling Moment in January this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 754,282.56).

Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Street Musician von John George Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.534,14) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John George Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Thrilling Moment im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 754.282,56).
