This artwork by John George Brown achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2020. In the American Art Online auction, the work Girl With Kittens sold for USD 118,750.00 (€ 107,670.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by John George Brown have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Thrilling Moment in January this year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 754,282.56).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John George Brown erzielte im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art Online wurde die Arbeit Girl With Kittens für USD 118.750,00 (€ 107.670,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John George Brown auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Thrilling Moment im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 819.000,00 (€ 754.282,56).
