In November 2012 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Waiting for the catch by John Frederick Tennant. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,695.70) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Frederick Tennant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Hunting Party In An Extensive Landscape, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,191.23).

Im November 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Waiting for the catch von John Frederick Tennant zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.695,70) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Frederick Tennant mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Hunting Party In An Extensive Landscape beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 10.191,23) versteigert wurde.
