Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, which included the work Glennabbey, North Wales by John Frederick Tennant. The price achieved of USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,365.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Frederick Tennant - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Hunting Party In An Extensive Landscape, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,191.23).

Im Juni 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Glennabbey, North Wales von John Frederick Tennant zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.365,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Frederick Tennant mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Hunting Party In An Extensive Landscape beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 10.191,23) versteigert wurde.
