Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A ladies bay hunter held by a mounted groom in a park by John Frederick Herring Senior was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April last year. The price achieved of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 18,030.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Frederick Herring Senior achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Start for the Derby, 1834 in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,105,600.00 (€ 1,632,212.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A ladies bay hunter held by a mounted groom in a park von John Frederick Herring Senior kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 15.120,00 (€ 18.030,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Frederick Herring Senior erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Start for the Derby, 1834 im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.105.600,00 (€ 1.632.212,62).
