Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 15,120.00 (€ 18,030.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Frederick Herring Senior achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Start for the Derby, 1834 in May 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,105,600.00 (€ 1,632,212.62).
