Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A brace of partridge; and A brace of woodcock by John Francis Sartorius was sold in the Sporting Art auction at Christies in London in May 2005. The price achieved of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,200.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Francis Sartorius - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pheasant Shooting; and Partridge Shooting, which sold at auction in October 2005 for USD 19,200.00 (€ 16,006.67).
