This work of art by John Francis Murphy could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work River Landscape changed hands for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,315.82) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Francis Murphy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Autumn Afternoon, which sold at auction in June 2000 for USD 28,200.00 (€ 29,544.26).
