Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Francis Murphy could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Living with Art auction, the work Autumn Field changed hands for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,736.73) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Francis Murphy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Autumn Afternoon in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 28,200.00 (€ 29,544.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Francis Murphy konnte im Oktober 2016 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Living with Art wechselte die Arbeit Autumn Field für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.736,73) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Francis Murphy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Autumn Afternoon im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.200,00 (€ 29.544,26).
