Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work On The Low Lands (Evening Landscape) by John Francis Murphy was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2015. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,792.25). Admittedly, works by John Francis Murphy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Autumn Afternoon in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 28,200.00 (€ 29,544.26).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit On The Low Lands (Evening Landscape) von John Francis Murphy wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.792,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Francis Murphy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Autumn Afternoon im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.200,00 (€ 29.544,26).
