Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Australian Returning Wave by John Firth-Smith was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2009. It achieved a price of AUD 40,800.00 (€ 23,987.13), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Other works by John Firth-Smith have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 59,750.00 (€ 35,938.03) in April 2006 for the work Sounds.
