In October 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work The Dessert by John F. Francis for USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,941.86). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 90,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John F. Francis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life: Yellow Apples And Chestnuts Spilling From A Basket in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 374,500.00 (€ 269,056.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
