Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of USD 175,500.00 (€ 129,635.10), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John F. Francis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life: Yellow Apples And Chestnuts Spilling From A Basket, which sold at auction in December 2008 for USD 374,500.00 (€ 269,056.69).
