Here, the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 80,500.00 (€ 60,667.72). Admittedly, works by John F. Francis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life: Yellow Apples And Chestnuts Spilling From A Basket in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 374,500.00 (€ 269,056.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Still Life with Cheese and Wine von John F. Francis kam im Dezember 2010 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 80.500,00 (€ 60.667,72) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John F. Francis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life: Yellow Apples And Chestnuts Spilling From A Basket im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 374.500,00 (€ 269.056,69).
