This artwork by John Eyre achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in January 2008. In the The Sunday Sale - Property from the Collection of the Late J.S.Goddard, removed from Camp Hill, Baldwin Estate, Staffordshire auction, the work Three Potters at their wheels; and Inside the Potteries sold for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,848.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Eyre; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Great Hall, Royal Hospital, Chelsea sold at auction in July 2007 with the realized price of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,564.55).
