Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale - Property from the Collection of the Late J.S.Goddard, removed from Camp Hill, Baldwin Estate, Staffordshire, which included the work The Old Lee Farm by John Eyre. The price achieved of GBP 475.00 (€ 636.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by John Eyre have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Great Hall, Royal Hospital, Chelsea in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,564.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Sunday Sale - Property from the Collection of the Late J.S.Goddard, removed from Camp Hill, Baldwin Estate, Staffordshire durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Old Lee Farm von John Eyre zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 475,00 (€ 636,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Eyre auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Great Hall, Royal Hospital, Chelsea im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.564,55).
