Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 900.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 960.00 (€ 1,425.82). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Edmund Buckley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dartington Manor House, Devon, which sold at auction in December this year for GBP 3,840.00 (€ 4,423.53).

Die Arbeit Queen Elizabeth I meeting her courtiers von John Edmund Buckley kam im Juli 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 960,00 (€ 1.425,82) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John Edmund Buckley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dartington Manor House, Devon beobachtet, die im Dezember diesen Jahres für GBP 3.840,00 (€ 4.423,53) versteigert wurde.
