Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Head on a stick by John Davies for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,142.51). This price was achieved in the auction Modern British and Irish Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Davies - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Brown Painted Head, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,940.70).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2013 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Head on a stick von John Davies für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.142,51) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Davies mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Brown Painted Head beobachtet, die im Juli 2008 für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.940,70) versteigert wurde.
