Auction result well in line with expectations
The work At the dressing table; and Portrait of an artist by John David Revel was sold in the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,116.25 (€ 1,824.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John David Revel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work At the casino, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 2,937.50 (€ 4,802.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit At the dressing table; and Portrait of an artist von John David Revel wurde im März 2002 in der Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures including Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.116,25 (€ 1.824,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von John David Revel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit At the casino beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 2.937,50 (€ 4.802,04) versteigert wurde.
