This artwork by John Craxton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in January 2020. In the The Delighted Eye: Works from the Collection of Allen and Beryl Freer auction, the work Surreal Tree, Pembrokeshire sold for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,434.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Craxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Triptych (Boy on Wall, Girl on the Seashore, Goat and Tree) in June this year with an auction result of GBP 343,300.00 (€ 399,542.10).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Craxton erzielte im Januar 2020 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Delighted Eye: Works from the Collection of Allen and Beryl Freer wurde die Arbeit Surreal Tree, Pembrokeshire für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.434,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Craxton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer Triptych (Boy on Wall, Girl on the Seashore, Goat and Tree) im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 343.300,00 (€ 399.542,10).
