In November 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work A Greek Girl by John Craxton. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 19,000.00 (€ 21,210.41), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Craxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Summer Triptych (Boy on Wall, Girl on the Seashore, Goat and Tree) in June this year with an auction result of GBP 343,300.00 (€ 399,542.10).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 27 % übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Greek Girl von John Craxton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 19.000,00 (€ 21.210,41) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Craxton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Summer Triptych (Boy on Wall, Girl on the Seashore, Goat and Tree) im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 343.300,00 (€ 399.542,10).
