In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work A coach and four in a landscape by John Cordrey. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,912.00 (€ 2,845.63), 59% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Cordrey - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Brighton To London Royal Mail, which sold at auction in June 2001 for USD 8,225.00 (€ 9,706.16).

Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit A coach and four in a landscape von John Cordrey zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.912,00 (€ 2.845,63) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Cordrey mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Brighton To London Royal Mail beobachtet, die im Juni 2001 für USD 8.225,00 (€ 9.706,16) versteigert wurde.
