Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction British. Cool., which included the work Reflection, Maroon and Brown with Green Line, 1994 (unframed) by John Copnall. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 892.50 (€ 1,015.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Copnall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abstract Forms On White No.1 in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,426.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion British. Cool. durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reflection, Maroon and Brown with Green Line, 1994 (unframed) von John Copnall zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 892,50 (€ 1.015,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Copnall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abstract Forms On White No.1 im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.426,74).
