Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Phillips in London held the auction New Now, which included the work Hand by John Coplans. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,829.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Coplans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Self-Portrait, Frieze No. 4, 3 Panels', which sold at auction in March 2018 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 26,379.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2018 führte Phillips in London die Auktion New Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hand von John Coplans zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.829,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Coplans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Self-Portrait, Frieze No. 4, 3 Panels' beobachtet, die im März 2018 für USD 32.500,00 (€ 26.379,87) versteigert wurde.
