Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Fire & Water V by John Civitello was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 125.00 (€ 149.25). Admittedly, works by John Civitello have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Glayre in September 2011 with an auction result of GBP 800.00 (€ 929.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Fire & Water V von John Civitello im Februar 2012 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 125,00 (€ 149,25) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Civitello auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Glayre im September 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 800,00 (€ 929,38).
