Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Christoforou achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in Paris in March last year. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Le Poète Solitaire - 1957 sold for EUR 10,496.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 4,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Christoforou; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Panique, 1973 sold at auction in June 2009 with the realized price of EUR 15,990.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Christoforou erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Artcurial in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Le Poète Solitaire - 1957 für EUR 10.496,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 4.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von John Christoforou; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Panique, 1973 im Juni 2009 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 15.990,00.
