Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Calcott Horsley could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British & European Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Juliet and her nurse changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,586.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Calcott Horsley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Showing A Preference in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 299,200.00 (€ 444,321.36).
