Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Unwilling Salute, "Discipline Oblige" by John Calcott Horsley was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2007. The price achieved of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,136.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Calcott Horsley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Showing A Preference in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 299,200.00 (€ 444,321.36).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 16.136,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden.
