Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Under The Mistletoe by John Calcott Horsley was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2019. The price achieved of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,125.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Calcott Horsley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Showing A Preference in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 299,200.00 (€ 444,321.36).
