Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reclining Nude by John Brack was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in August 2003. The price achieved of AUD 4,465.00 (€ 2,637.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,500.00 – 5,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Brack achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian The Old Time in May 2007 with an auction result of AUD 3,360,000.00 (€ 2,066,001.64).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.465,00 (€ 2.637,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.500,00 – 5.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Brack erzielen.
