This artwork by John Banting achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2014. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Piano Player sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,328.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Banting achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work For Social Service in September 2012 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 39,213.21).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Banting erzielte im März 2014 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Piano Player für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.328,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Banting erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit For Social Service im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.250,00 (€ 39.213,21).
