It achieved a price of GBP 1,140.00 (€ 1,681.16), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 43%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Olive Trees, which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,858.07).

Die Arbeit The Yard von John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge kam im Oktober 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.140,00 (€ 1.681,16) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 43%. Für andere Arbeiten von John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Olive Trees beobachtet, die im Dezember 2012 für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.858,07) versteigert wurde.
