Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2005. In the Twentieth Century British Art auction, the work Figures on a street, Italy; and 18 further works by the same hand sold for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,654.46) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Olive Trees, which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,858.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge erzielte im Oktober 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art wurde die Arbeit Figures on a street, Italy; and 18 further works by the same hand für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.654,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Olive Trees beobachtet, die im Dezember 2012 für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.858,07) versteigert wurde.
