It achieved a price of GBP 1,560.00 (€ 2,300.53), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Olive Trees, which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,858.07).

Die Arbeit The Garden Wall; and six further works by the same hand von John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge kam im Oktober 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.560,00 (€ 2.300,53) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Für andere Arbeiten von John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Olive Trees beobachtet, die im Dezember 2012 für GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.858,07) versteigert wurde.
