The work Harbour, King's Lynn; and six further sketchbooks by John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge was sold in the Twentieth Century British Art auction at Christies in London in October 2005. The result of GBP 600.00 (€ 884.82) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Olive Trees in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,858.07).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Harbour, King's Lynn; and six further sketchbooks von John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge wurde im Oktober 2005 in der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 600,00 (€ 884,82) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Arthur Malcolm Aldridge auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Olive Trees im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.858,07).
