The work A trompe l'oeil still life with a bird in a cage, a hunting horn, bird-whistle, and other hunting implements hanging on a wall by Johannes Leemans was sold in the European Noble and Private Collections auction at Christies in Amsterdam in December 2009. The price achieved of EUR 49,000.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00.
