This artwork by Johannes Kip achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2007. In the British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints auction, the work The Abbey in Cirencester, The Seat of Thomas Master Esq sold for GBP 840.00 (€ 1,236.12) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Kip have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A group of six views of English Gardens and Estates in February 2002 with an auction result of USD 7,637.50 (€ 8,821.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Johannes Kip erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints wurde die Arbeit The Abbey in Cirencester, The Seat of Thomas Master Esq für GBP 840,00 (€ 1.236,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johannes Kip auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A group of six views of English Gardens and Estates im Februar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.637,50 (€ 8.821,32).
