Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2017 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work A Wooded Landscape With Saint John The Baptist Preaching by Johann Jakob Hartmann. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 11,956.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Jakob Hartmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape With The Conversion Of St. Paul; Landscape With St. John The Baptist Preaching in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 164,500.00 (€ 125,774.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters including Old Master & British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Saint John The Baptist Preaching von Johann Jakob Hartmann zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 11.956,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Jakob Hartmann erzielen.
