Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jacob'S Dream; The Angel Appearing To Hagar And Ishmael by Johann Jakob Hartmann was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,459.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Jakob Hartmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape With The Conversion Of St. Paul; Landscape With St. John The Baptist Preaching in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 164,500.00 (€ 125,774.14).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.459,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
