Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work A City Square By A Church, With A Man Unloading A Cart By The ‘Haasie’ Inn by Johannes Huibert Prins for USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,147.02). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Huibert Prins - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A capriccio of a church by a canal, which sold at auction in April 2002 for EUR 15,275.00.

Im Januar 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A City Square By A Church, With A Man Unloading A Cart By The ‘Haasie’ Inn von Johannes Huibert Prins für USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.147,02) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Johannes Huibert Prins mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A capriccio of a church by a canal beobachtet, die im April 2002 für EUR 15.275,00 versteigert wurde.
