Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gezigt op de Maas voor Rotterdam bij ondergaande zon: ships on the river Maas at sunset, Rotterdam by Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2016. The price achieved of EUR 10,625.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bringing In The Catch in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 90,000.00.

Die Arbeit Gezigt op de Maas voor Rotterdam bij ondergaande zon: ships on the river Maas at sunset, Rotterdam von Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 10.625,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bringing In The Catch im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 90.000,00.
