Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unloading the Catch by Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,641.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bringing In The Catch, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 90,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unloading the Catch von Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek kam im Juli 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 20.160,00 (€ 23.641,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Johannes Hermanus Barend Koekkoek mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bringing In The Catch beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für EUR 90.000,00 versteigert wurde.
