In May 2012 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work A view of a Dutch town during summer by Johannes Franciscus Spohler. The auction ended at the price of EUR 10,000.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Franciscus Spohler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A busy town in winter; and Gentlemen by an Amsterdam canal in summer in October 2005 with an auction result of EUR 62,400.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2012 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of a Dutch town during summer von Johannes Franciscus Spohler zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 10.000,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johannes Franciscus Spohler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A busy town in winter; and Gentlemen by an Amsterdam canal in summer im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 62.400,00.
