In April 2015 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work A busy street in Amsterdam by Johannes Franciscus Spohler. The auction ended at the price of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,866.15), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Franciscus Spohler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A busy town in winter; and Gentlemen by an Amsterdam canal in summer in October 2005 with an auction result of EUR 62,400.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im April 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A busy street in Amsterdam von Johannes Franciscus Spohler zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.866,15) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johannes Franciscus Spohler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A busy town in winter; and Gentlemen by an Amsterdam canal in summer im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 62.400,00.
