This artwork by Johannes Franciscus Spohler achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in February 2018. In the Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work Dutch old City Hall, The Hague sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,307.67) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johannes Franciscus Spohler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A busy town in winter; and Gentlemen by an Amsterdam canal in summer in October 2005 with an auction result of EUR 62,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Johannes Franciscus Spohler erzielte im Februar 2018 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art wurde die Arbeit Dutch old City Hall, The Hague für USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.307,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johannes Franciscus Spohler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A busy town in winter; and Gentlemen by an Amsterdam canal in summer im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 62.400,00.
