Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2004 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work A classical landscape with wildfowl by Johannes Bronckhorst. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,151.00 (€ 1,727.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Bronckhorst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Four sheets of studies showing different species of tropical marine fish, including two species of blenny and a butterfly fish (no. 1); a grunt, a parrotfish and a banded butterfly fish (no. 2); a grouper, marbled grouper and butterfly fish (no. 3); in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,8
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2004 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A classical landscape with wildfowl von Johannes Bronckhorst zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.151,00 (€ 1.727,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johannes Bronckhorst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Four sheets of studies showing different species of tropical marine fish, including two species of blenny and a butterfly fish (no. 1); a grunt, a parrotfish and a banded butterfly fish (no. 2); a grouper, marbled grouper and butterfly fish (no. 3); im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.822,12).
