Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Two Exotic Birds Perched On A Branch: A Java Sparrow With A Lesser Weaver by Johannes Bronckhorst for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,151.84). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johannes Bronckhorst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Four sheets of studies showing different species of tropical marine fish, including two species of blenny and a butterfly fish (no. 1); a grunt, a parrotfish and a banded butterfly fish (no. 2); a grouper, marbled grouper and butterfly fish (no. 3); in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,8
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Two Exotic Birds Perched On A Branch: A Java Sparrow With A Lesser Weaver von Johannes Bronckhorst für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.151,84) erwerben. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Four sheets of studies showing different species of tropical marine fish, including two species of blenny and a butterfly fish (no. 1); a grunt, a parrotfish and a banded butterfly fish (no. 2); a grouper, marbled grouper and butterfly fish (no. 3); im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.822,12).
