Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Three Butterflies, A Moth And A Wasp by Johannes Bronckhorst. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,576.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Bronckhorst - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four sheets of studies showing different species of tropical marine fish, including two species of blenny and a butterfly fish (no. 1); a grunt, a parrotfish and a banded butterfly fish (no. 2); a grouper, marbled grouper and butterfly fish (no. 3);, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,822.12

Für andere Arbeiten von Johannes Bronckhorst mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Four sheets of studies showing different species of tropical marine fish, including two species of blenny and a butterfly fish (no. 1); a grunt, a parrotfish and a banded butterfly fish (no. 2); a grouper, marbled grouper and butterfly fish (no. 3); beobachtet, die im Juli 2011 für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 25.822,12) versteigert wurde.
