The price achieved of USD 68,750.00 (€ 57,782.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Theodor de Bry - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Florilegium renovatum et auctum, Frankfurt, 1641, coloured plates, calf gilt, which sold at auction in May last year for GBP 107,100.00 (€ 125,992.95).
