Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art, which included the work Two Works: Atardecer En El Chico And Amanecer En El Chico by Johann Moritz Rugendas. The price achieved of USD 50,000.00 (€ 47,267.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Moritz Rugendas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Independencia market, Lima in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 725,000.00 (€ 847,642.63).

Im November 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Works: Atardecer En El Chico And Amanecer En El Chico von Johann Moritz Rugendas zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 47.267,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Moritz Rugendas erzielen.
