Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Lovers' Tryst By Moonlight, Plaza Mayor, Lima by Johann Moritz Rugendas was sold in the Topographical Pictures auction at Christies in London in December 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,947.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Moritz Rugendas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Independencia market, Lima in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 725,000.00 (€ 847,642.63).

Die Arbeit A Lovers' Tryst By Moonlight, Plaza Mayor, Lima von Johann Moritz Rugendas wurde im Dezember 2017 in der Auktion Topographical Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.947,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
